Interrupting our usual programming...
Happy thanksgiving! We got some updates, a special mention, and upcoming stuff to tease.
Hello Byters!1
As we reach the end of another week, I thought I’d take the chance to share the latest happenings and opportunities for us to connect.
This is meant to be a community after all, and I really hope to get a sense of who you all are as time goes on.
Honourable Mention: A Star BYE Member
Our community is a mosaic of talent, I’m sure. And while we haven’t had the opportunity to get completely acquainted with all 130 of you yet, I still wanted to shout someone out that I think deserves a lot more recognition.
is the awesome human being behind . We’ve had the pleasure of meeting through Substack and I really enjoy her publication. She’ll also have a guest post come out on BYE real soon, so stay tuned for that! When Hope Writes is about a plethora of things, some of which include: the human condition; poetry and prose; health challenges; video game reviews; film recommendations; writing prompts and tips; and sooo much more. Nadia really lets her creativity and interests flow. I really admire her authenticity, which is one of the things BYE is all about, of course.
Make sure to check it out :)
What are you waiting for? Join the conversation!
One of BYE’s founding principles is getting rid of the notion that art needs to be a solitary endeavour. We believe in the power of collaboration and connection.
We need each other!
Which is why I’d like to formerly invite you to (1) make sure you have the Substack app downloaded on your phones, and (2) join our chat!
I’m gonna post some quick messages in the chat more often. Whether it’ll be a quick meme, conversation starters, or little resources I come across. I want all of you to get the most out of this little community, which means giving all of you the opportunity to make connections and get inspired from one another!
After all, we’re always listening…
Your input helps shape our community. I had the pleasure of hearing suggestions from
in our subscriber chat. She gave some great feedback about our “BYE Curated” series that I’m working on (more about that next). Her input gave me an idea of what kind of links to prioritize when curating. The kind of content we’ve been putting out has mostly been personal and focused on being relatable. However, I want to offer some practical content as well. I work for you guys. If you guys tell me that there’s something you need more of, I’ll see what I can do.
What’s on the horizon?!
Glad you asked. As mentioned above, I’m working on what will probably be a monthly series called “BYE Curated.” Every post will feature a list of resources, links, workshops (and more) for creative people. The creative mediums I’ll focus on currently include:
Filmmakers
Music and Audio creators
Creative Writers
Photographers
Fine & Digital Artists
I’m very excited to wrap up on formatting and figuring out the research technicalities. I’m ALMOST there.
Lastly, but definitely not least, BYE has its very FIRST online workshop in the works. I don’t want to give away too much just yet, but it’ll be centred around digital art.
I’m very confident that it’ll be a banger. The host reached out to me personally and very enthusiastically pitched their idea for the workshop. They’re a very experienced professional in their field.
I am soooo excited to get more news for you guys and I hope to see all of you there when the time comes.
Follow us!
Follow BYE on Instagram! I want to have the chance to interact with you guys as much as possible. I’m really looking forward to seeing all the amazing things we'll create and experience together.
That’s it for this week,
BYE!
Check out our contributor publications to see what our amazing community has brought you so far.
Also be sure to leave a comment and let us know what you think about all the things we’re planning.
This is a publication that prides itself on celebrating the creative community. Creatives across all mediums share universal experiences, so by welcoming authentic voices, we hope to create a sense of community for all artists. We wish to make the experience of living the artist’s life a little less solitary.

You would be given complete creative freedom (written, or audio/visual). As long as you have a focus on providing:
inspiration
education
motivation
comfort
(or anything in between)
For the creative community, it’s fair game!
We are thrilled to have you here and hope to see you again soon.
It’s a work in progress, but how’s that for a name for our members?
Thank you so much for such a sweet shout-out, Alessandro and the Byte community! I'm so excited for the guest post and to have you on my newsletter soon as well. I look forward to all that's brewing in your corner. Have a wonderful weekend!
